Pile Tracker, Port of Portland
Description
Oregon State University
Designed, engineered, and implemented a statistical analysis database application for the Port of Portland to aid in defining an optimized method of placing piles and bents for future dock construction at the port.
The software included data entry, data import, graph plotting, data backup, searching & scanning, and mathematical calculations for dock construction.
The primary methodology was to utilize differing density changes that occur after driving a pile into the floor of a riverbed or other underwater sediment, and determine the optimal patterns to drive piles using the least amount of penetration resistance, and thus less effort.
